The tools from Campfire Possibles grew out the inventive mind of John Rishel, an avid camper for over 40 years. After poking at a well stoked fire with wooden sticks, he found they not only catch fire themselves, they do not create the leverage to maneuver logs poperly and safely. What he needed was a tool that would...
That's how ideas are born. Through the years, John enjoyed all aspects of camping, as he still does today, but his most cherished memories are of those times enjoying the companionship of friends and family basking in the warm glow of a campfire.
"Campfire building is a skill," John says, "Almost anyone can start a fire, but to create a fire that generates enough heat to warm those around it without being too hot takes more than matches." John believes creating the ideal campfire requires not just knowledge but the proper tools as well.
This is were John, the father of 4 and grandfather to 10, gets his ideas. With the rare skills of a master craftsman with stainless steel he has the skills to create unique solutions to camping needs. He also always taught his family the importance of safety around fire. He discouraged the use of wooden sticks as fire pokers.
Not finding suitable alternative pokers, John utilized his 35 years of experience welding and assembling stainless steel parts to design the ultimate campfire poker. Crafted from 304 (Food Grade) stainless steel, the poker is designed with a formed handle and "catch-all" end to maneuver logs and coals in the safest manner.
The first pokers John designed were given to several of his camping buddies. Prompted by the enthusiastic response he received, John decided to make this tool available to all campfire people. At an exceptional value, this long-lasting tool will help provide safety and enjoyment for campfires everywhere.
